Specialties:

Dr. Rubin is a fellowship trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in Adult Reconstruction (Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Surgery). He is an expert in minimally invasive “Direct Anterior Approach” total hip replacement and is currently authoring and editing the world’s first comprehensive surgical textbook on this technique. He performs partial joint replacements for young, active, arthritis patients, revision total joint surgery, and cares for geriatric and peri-prosthetic fracture patients. Dr. Rubin completed his surgical training at Yale University followed by an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship with the Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation in Connecticut.  

Dr. Rubin is affiliated with University Orthopedics, Inc., and is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is actively engaged in numerous clinical research projects through the Miriam Hospital’s Total Joint Center, and has published over 30 scientific papers. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and an active member of the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS).

Dr. Rubin was an undergraduate Presidential Scholar at Brandeis University and graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction from the Tufts University School of Medicine. In 2013, he was selected as one of the “Forty Under 40” in Providence, Rhode Island by the Providence Business News. He is actively involved with the Rhode Island Arthritis Foundation and lives locally with his wife and two children.
